Although the movie is out in a week or so, I got to see it with my friends today. The distributor made a special projection, and I’m not missing those.
It is about Doug (Josh Gad) who is marrying a hot girl (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting), but unfortunately he doesn’t have a groomsman for the occasion. So Doug calls Jimmy (Kevin Hart), owner and operator of Best Man Inc, a company that provides the best man and the grooms. During the preparations they develop a bromance.
I had no prior knowledge about the movie, and boy, was I surprised! Wedding comedies are mostly lame and for girls, but this one is not it. Wedding comedies are also not so funny, always caring about so much romance and drama going on between the laughs. This movie is genuinely funny. Kevin Hart didn’t annoy me, Josh killed it, Kelly is kinda week (because of the role, I guess). Supporting cast is brilliant, music is in place and there is a blatant joke for LOST fans (you know, the series). You have all the kinds of comedy going on, physical and verbal, of course – toilet humor and even some stoner moments.
My friend (goes by the name Krunic here) laughed hard. And he HATES comedies. So there you go.
